Join the Adventure!
Join the hundreds of young people enjoying Scouting throughout the Cotswolds.
How can I find my local group?
Look at our groups page, see which is closest. When you hit join below select the group from the list. You can select more than one group if you’re close to more than one!
What’re the benefits of Scouting?
Parents tell us their children benefit hugely from the adventures, fun and friendships they experience. Scouting can help develop your child’s social skills and independence, and give them access to some amazing and memorable opportunities.
What do we do?
Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Network members take part in activities as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, expeditions overseas, photography, climbing and zorbing.
As a Scout you can learn survival skills, first aid, computer programming or even how to fly a plane!
There is something for every young person. It’s a fantastic way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity, and experience the wider world.
Adults
Get involved, make friends, inspire a generation!
Leaders, helpers, administrators, trainers, managers
You can bring more than you think!
Every day, across the Cotswolds, adults volunteer their time to deliver amazing programmes, inspiring our young people.
Not all out volunteers work directly with young people, we have trainers, managers, administrators, and trustees among many more type of roles.
Do I have the skills you need?
We all have useful skills, and you can volunteer to help in many ways.
Do you have first aid knowledge, good with numbers, handy in the kitchen or a DIY whizz – there are so many ways you can support!
…and don’t worry, you’ll learn many new skills along the way too.
I don’t have much time to give…?
Volunteering is easy, fun, and flexible, how much time you give is completely up to you. Be it once a fortnight, month, or term, or just at special events/camps, there is a role you can play.
No matter how you get involved, we’ll make sure you’re properly trained and supported.
What’s in it for me?
Scouting offers the chance to build on personal skills, like teamwork, confidence, and leadership.
You can gain externally recognised skills through our training schemes.
A study found that over 90% of our volunteers believe that the skills and experiences they have gained through Scouting have been of relevance to their working or personal lives.
Most of all, you’ll have a blast volunteering alongside some of the most enthusiastic and dedicated people you’ll ever meet!
